I don't do florals
Yesterday I realised I just don't do florals. I admire them from afar, even lust after them, but then when I think about it logically, they just don't go with my wardrobe. I must prefer hearts, polka dots and stripes. After dragging Scott into h&m in a last ditch attempt to find some that would go in my wardrobe, I bought this vest top. I had been eyeing up this dress from topshop, but didn't really think it was worth £40 when it just looks like a vest tucked into a skirt. So I got this vest which was £5.99, and paired it with my AA skirt, which was £22. I got my own version of the dress for £28 and the best thing is that I can wear the vest with other things! I wore it with a blue skirt last night which also looked great, very nautical. It makes me want it to be summer already!
I spent yesterday in Manchester with Scott and had further evidence that it always rains in Manchester, or at least whenever I visit. Manchester is so big and daunting compared to Liverpool, but it does have some good shops that Liverpool lacks, such as Selfridges. I could spend forever in Selfridges, window shopping, especially in the food hall. Sadly, it's all out of my budget.

Well done at copying the dress! I desperately want the eiffel tower print dress in topshop, but when I was there they had my size and *drum roll* for the first time in my entire life my size was too big around my boobs! And they didnt have a smaller size :(
ReplyDeleteI don't do florals either, but my mum bought me a really nice floral bag that I've been wearing a lot lately AND I saw a reaaaally cute floral dress in Blanco that I really want. The shape is like the black and white one you have from H&M but brown and with a flower print. Megacute.
I also want this wallet http://www.blancoint.com/uploads/77920-3301.jpg
oh your version looks the same and it's so much cheaper and versatile!
ReplyDeleteI do florals, and polkadots and stripes :)
oh and you should definitely visit Barcelona! I loved it and want to get back soon!
xx
Me neither!! I do not do florals, I can count the floral things I own on one hand. As far as florals go, I only really like modernist florals (see Lanvin). Noooo.
ReplyDeleteI love the white tights!
ReplyDeleteIt always rains when I go to Manchester too! Maybe it just always rains in Manchester... :)
ReplyDeletethanks for your comment honey :)
ReplyDeleteand yayyy, for liverpool haha.
love your outfit! and I love both Liverpool and Manchester for shopping too :D
xx
When's the trip? I visited some AMAZING vintage shops that I think you'll love, as well as the best library I've ever seen (there's a photo on my flickr). I can give you addresses if you want.
ReplyDeleteAlso, some of those Paris films I've been watching were pretty average, but I'm still posting them to show my dedication haha.
Oh those buildings are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteManchester is my home town, it is far superior to Liverpool or Leeds for shopping.

I find it quite sad that people miss out on some amazing shops in Manchester, prefering to go to shops you can find in any city. Selfridges food hall is a gem though, I can never resist anything in there.
PS. If you want help finding these places, I can never resist a shopping trip to Manc!
Great outfit! I love the red and white combo.
ReplyDeleteI just find that a lot of those top-and-skirt dresses simply take away the fun of dressing up, AND they're so often overpriced.
Hi, its my first time on your fab blog today! I thought that was the Topshop dress at first, it looks great. Is that vest from H&M? I think its the same one i got a couple of weeks ago. Em x
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about florals. I have one floral skirt that I just cannot seem to style at all. I think I'm just going to have to get rid of it, since I don't have enough hangers in my closet.
ReplyDeleteYour remake of the dress is really nice and those pictures are gorgeous!
Aw, your photos are so nice! Do I not have you added on flickr? I will add you post-haste!
ReplyDeleteAlso: I adore that outfit.
i think you can do florals if you want =) they will look nice combined with polkadots or stripes.. just depends i guess.

What a bargain on the H&M vest & AA skirt!
ReplyDeleteWhenever I drive to Manchester it starts raining as soon as I get off the motorway, further testament that it's always raining in Manchester!
