The past 3 weeks I have been on a placement in a school. As a result of this I've decided that I definitely do not want to teach. I wasn't 100% sure anyway, but this sealed my decision. Anyway, wearing boring work clothes meant that by last wednesday, I was fed up of wearing black pants and boring tops and the heat was far too much. I got changed into this pretty summer dress from Topshop that I hadn't had chance to wear yet, even though I was only popping to the shops for some food. I did feel a bit overdressed, but it felt nice at the same time. The shoes are from Primark and actually look like rather good quality for Primark.
I have also realised that I actually have quite a lot of floral dresses now. I honestly can't help it - they're so nice and feminine that I couldn't resist them!
You look sooo pretty! I love that dress. And the shape is so flattering, too!
ReplyDeleteI agree. You look very pretty. What a beautiful dress! And i never would have thought those shoes would be in my budget!
ReplyDeletethe dress is fantastic and looks so gorgeous on you, it suits you really well.
ReplyDeleteaw, so what are you going to do now? the same thing happened with my mum, both her siblings had become teachers and so she had her placement and hated it. It must have been a relief to be positive about it anyway, to have something seal your decision. good luck!
xx
I love that dress - its so summery. I get what you're saying about boring trousers. I've been wearing dresses etc to work as well.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty dress =O
ReplyDeleteSo sad that I don't get Topshop or Primark where I live (switzerland)... or french connection or New look or... Oh well any High street shops apart from H&M & Zara
Thanks for commenting by the way =)
I also really like Zooey Deschanel style and I agree it's probably not her most exciting look but I loved it for those baby blue shoes ^^

i love the floral pattern of your dress
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely dress! I love the crisp white with all the splashes of colour, perfect for summer!
ReplyDeleteI really think you should go to Glastonbury next year! Its something that has to be done and whether or not you're keen on the artists that are playing, the atmosphere and everything else more than makes up for it :) and you can definitely do it in style with a pair of red Hunter's wellies!
That dress is so pretty! Also, I love those shoes, are they recent?
ReplyDeleteWell sometimes you just feel like getting dressed up! Sometimes I'll get all prettyed up just to go and get a video or something =P. This is a lovely dress though, beautiful flower pattern. =].
ReplyDeletelook at you in more floral - yay! Best of luck on your next step, do you know what you might want to do for a career??
ReplyDeleteAfter doing student teaching for a semester I decided against it as well. It's not for everyone. Fabulous dress!!
ReplyDeleteThat dress is soo lovely :)

You can never have too many floral dresses! I love the shape and the colors of this one.
ReplyDeleteI'm spending a month there, until July 29th - I'm going on sort of an academic program, I'm taking two classes but I get to spend lots of free time exploring the city! I'm so excited!
ReplyDeleteThis dress is really beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSweet dress !
ReplyDeletelovely outfit! It's always fun to dress up nice to everyday regular places.
ReplyDeleteI love the dress so much.
ReplyDeletethat dress looks absolutely amazing on you!!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore that dress! I want it.
ReplyDeleteOhhh! I have this dress too! I love the print on it so much!! I haven't actually worn it out yet. Can I ask if you wear anything under it as I find it shows your bra strap a bit. But I think I will just wear it as it is as the bow just covers it.
ReplyDeleteI said it on flickr too, but I just think this is an awesome dress and you look gorgeous wearing it! :)
ReplyDeleteyou look so pretty! it's not too girly but just right!
ReplyDeleteloooveeeeee your dress! you can never go wrong with a floral dress, they are always guaranteed to perk up your mood!
ReplyDeletehope you decide which path you want to take, honey! :)

so so gorgeous! at least you know now what you don't want.
ReplyDeleteThat dress is really perfect! You look so wonderfully cute in it :)
ReplyDeleteIt's good to find out what you want to do - and not do. Do you have any idea what you'd try now?
thank you very much for your lovely comment, honey!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the understated look too myself, most of the girls at prom were in huge meringue dresses with big fake hair and orange tans....thats just not for me!! :)
xoxo
That dress looks gorgeous on you! xx
ReplyDeleteI like that polaroid door. Vair cute.
ReplyDeleteYour writing and outfits are always so...refreshing! Honestly, these outfit photos make me feel so cleansed and inspired.
ReplyDeleteThe shape of the dress is so cute & suits you so well :D
ReplyDeleteOh that dress is too good for Topshop, it ought to be vintage! (:
ReplyDeleteJust curious, as a former teacher, but what about the placement made you decide you don't want to teach?
The dress is gorgeous! I'm sorry that you decided not to teach, but glad that you made that decision now! I teach with so many people who don't really love it, a few who hate it, but feel like they're stuck in this job. It's so horrid for their students. More power to you for having the boldness to make such a choice for yourself based on what you didn't love! -e
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THAT DRESS.
ReplyDeleteThat dress is adorable.
