Autumn to me is:
- Apple picking
- Early nights with cups of tea
- Making soups to keep me warm
- Carving pumpkins for halloween
- Walking the dogs and laughing at them playing in the fallen leaves
- Rain, rain, rain.
- Digging out the winter clothes, tights, scarves, duffle coats, and gloves.
- The first cold of the winter, with a week spent sniffing and coughing.

you just made me all warm and fuzzy! now i just wanna make pumpkin cookies and drink a cup of hot chocolate! :D
ReplyDeletefantastic photos too!
Autumn means pumpkin season, apple pies, cinnamon spices, my birthday, falling leaves, grey skies, and lots of roasted chestnuts.
ReplyDeleteautumn means mild time (you know, spain it's too hot!), falling leaves and my boy bday!

Autumn...hmmm, sweet sweet autumn... it's, as you've mentioned, digging out scarves and hats and gloves and mittens and tights and warm coats and jackets and... and it's the smell of ripe fruit and jam making (at my Mum's and my mother-in-law's house...) and warm tea and warm autumn sunshine and catching those few warm rays for an autumn family B-B-Q in my parents' garden and it's the sound of leaves under your feet and picking chestnut with the children and making funny creatures at the kitchen table... I love autumn!

ReplyDeletei hate pre-winter (autumn) the leaves turning colours are absolutely beautiful too but the cold wind and rain is major eww! apple picking wouldnt be enjoyable if its raining, true? i dont even have any apple trees LOL

ReplyDeleteI wish Autumn to me looked like that! Sadly all I associate it with is wind and rain.
ReplyDeleteI love these pictures. They make me want apple cider and a fire place!!

ReplyDeleteautumn still hasnt quite arrived in Portugal... hopefully soon i'll be wearing coats and wrapping up!
ReplyDeleteautumn is definitely my favourite season!
Library management sounds cool, I love spending time in libraries :-) and your autumn post is just gorgeous. I'd be happy if it stopped raining and I could crunch about in beautiful fallen leaves, instead of getting wet feet every time I leave the house :( Ooh and I tagged you!
ReplyDeleteMmmm Autumn is my favourite of the seasons! To me, it is blackberry picking, blankets on the bed, late afternoon sunshine, farmers markets, cosy evenings in, thinking about hearty, warming recipes (and soups! especially soups...), listening to Broadcast, and very best of all, 'Moominland in November' which might just be one of the best books ever, 'gathering up and taking stock'. Hurrah for Autumn! x
ReplyDeleteOMG! Such beautiful photos!! I love autumn, but for me autumn means sun, heat and more sweat. Living in a tropical island in the Caribbean, autumn and winter is praticaly summer, :( I miss the cold breeze and the brown leaves! Oh, and specially snow!
ReplyDeleteP.S: Cool blog, I loved your outfits!
Sincerely Louie, Ciao! :)
Autumn to me is that crispy weather, seems like you can breath all over again after the summer! But it is also flushed cheeks :D
ReplyDeleteP.S after your post about the peanut cookies, i made peanut choc muffins! Haha
Goodle x
oh my beautiful. i wish i live in 4 season country too.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pics! Autumn is cooling down, sun not so bright, cooler breeze, turning leaves. (It used to be different, but I moved to somewhere where there IS an Autumn!) Crisp apples, the last of the stone fruit. Crocheting up a scarf, trying to crochet mittens!
ReplyDeleteBut we've got Spring approaching here :)
ah autumn is just starting here, it started to rain this past week but it is still hot and humid which I don't like, although I love autumn with the falling leaves and layering clothes and cute scarves! oh and umbrelas :)
ReplyDeletex
For me it's mostly colourful leaves and warm teas in the evening:) Oh, and pumpkin carving:D
ReplyDeleteI think all those things are autumn to me as well - at least how a nice autumn's supposed to be!
ReplyDeleteI was kind of having a hard time accepting fall this year. It's too hard when it gets dark so early. But lately I've been remembering that the changing of leaves, pumpkins and comfort foods are really great.
ReplyDeleteautumn to me is mittens and hats and scarves and pumpkin cookies and pumpkin seeds and apple pie and cinnamon spice tea and crunching leaves and red and orange and yellow :)
ReplyDeleteThese are some beautiful shots...
ReplyDeleteI wish we have something other den summer here.
ReplyDeleteautumn to me is crisp air and crunchy leaves :D
ReplyDeleteautumn is all of those things for me. autumn is also MY season because i was born in october. i love the misty mornings and chill nights.
