I made a little video log yesterday when I got home from work, talking about my new love for crochet. I finished my scarf from the first post, and since then I've been making granny squares like nobodies business! I really love how relaxing it is and how proud I feel when I've made one. It's really so satisfying.
These are the granny squares I've been making, in red & blue. Eventually I want to join them and make it into a cushion cover. My sister has given me a pattern for some booties that she would like me to make for the baby but I think it looks a bit complicated although it could be a good challenge for me I suppose. Lucy from Attic24 is my main inspiration for hooky goodness, her blankets are so wonderful and colourful. Crochet is rapidly become my new addiction.
Oh and thank you for all your lovely comments on my last post, they really made my day!

You should be proud, the scarf and the squares are a great achievement! Maybe one day you could make one of those huge blankets out of those little squares- my parents have one at home and I love how snuggly it is. Great idea for a vlog too!
ReplyDeletegood to see a fellow crocheter, you should check out my site for random inspiration if you ever need any.
ReplyDeleteI have always been wondering, do you have a polaroid camera since you have all those pictures on your door? :-)
ReplyDeleteWow, you're doing so well!
ReplyDeleteIsn't Lucy fab? I love the little glimpses in Atticland, such a deliciously colourful place.
You inspired me to start crocheting - I'm moving in with my boyfriend soon and thought I needed something to distract me! I've ordered a starter kit from ebay and am waiting impatiently for it to arrive!
ReplyDeleteYou are very quick. Nice work.
ReplyDeleteYou should try to borrow this book maybe http://www.amazon.co.uk/reader/0715321412?_encoding=UTF8&ref_=sib_dp_pt#reader-link
Wahh !!! Adorable !
ReplyDeletei have so many unfinished crochet projects... you have inspired me to (attempt to) finish!
ReplyDeleteoh it must so rewarding to finish your scarf right? :) and your granny squares are so cute! wish you make your blanket one day!
ReplyDeletealso looking to your amazing long hair makes me miss my own, well it'll grow!
I love the color of your scarf! It looks really nice--even with some mistakes, it's light-years better than my first scarf. I should take up crochet again.
ReplyDeletePS Re your comment: Someone had left a glass coke bottle in the freezer with water in it. Presumably, when the water expanded into ice the coke bottle shattered. I thought it looked pretty darn cool, although perhaps a bit dangerous.
ReplyDeleteNice scarf. Great job dear.
ReplyDeletea cushion cover out of those squares would be so cute!
ReplyDeleteAh I can't wait to see the final cushion cover!
ReplyDeleteI need a new hobby! I agree with Eleanor, you should make a blanket out of all the little squares! It must be so satisfying to create something using your own hands.
ReplyDeleteYour granny squares are so cute, I can't wait to see your finished cushion cover.
ReplyDeleteMy mum gave me a crochet kit for Christmas and it's been sitting untouched since then. But now you've inspired me, I'm going to give it a go!
