The past week the following things have been floating my boat:
- My little fruit & vegetable garden. I've been growing various things in little plants pots on the patio and it's starting to pay off now. I can't wait to get a few more courgette flowers and then I can try them in some tempura batter, yum! The strawberries are coming along really well, we've had a few off them. They're producing runners now so we're trying to propagate some more plants for next year.
- Leopard print nails, inspired by Gem Fatale. My right hand is far worse, but it slightly resembles leopard print if you look at them from far away and squint a bit! I used Barry M nail varnishes in 119 Baby Pink and 302 Fuchsia. I am not a pink girl at all really but I absolutely love this fuchsia colour. I think my nails are about the only place that I would wear pink though.
- Reading this book. It is written by Diana's husband and I am really enjoying it so far. I love how it's interspersed with pieces of library history and the stories are so funny. I can completely relate to all of the stories about weird library patrons but also the love of the job. I really recommend it to anyone who likes funny little anecdotal stories & loves libraries.

love the colours of your vegie garden !
ReplyDeleteGem's nails always look fantastic!!! Though mine are pretty mental at the moment - Navy Blue YSL polish (awful and chips like crazy by the way, it was borrowed, my Rimmel London in Blue Vogue is much better, and cheaper!) with Rococo Nail Apparel Gold Leaf topcoat so they are all speckly like jellybeans!
ReplyDeleteAnd we're starting to get strawberries turning red on the plants at home too!
I absolutely love your nails; they look amazing. My mother planted strawberries in our backyard as well, but they keep being eaten by bugs. It's a shame because the ones that we do manage to save taste really good.

Those strawberries look delicious, and your courgettes are miles ahead of mine! I'm intrigued by courgette flower fritters - you'll have to let us know how they taste!

ReplyDeleteWow, your nails look fab! As do your vegetables! I am looking after my sister's tomato plants while she is on holiday this week and I'm terrified I'm going to accidentally kill them! I love the idea of being able to grow a bit of your own food though.
