I love this dress. It makes me feel French and feminine and fifties-ish. I think it makes me feel French mainly because I remember wearing it on Bastille Day in Paris last year. Isn't it strange how clothes have such sentiment? I always remember in college I had a pair of hounds-tooth leggings that I wore with doc marten boots, denim skirt and sparkly turquoise jumper. (I was quite the eccentric photography student back then) I could NOT for the life of me throw away those leggings, not even when they were falling apart. Do you have any items of clothing that you cherish for sentimental reasons? I'm sure we all do!
I have been so busy this week, because I became an Auntie! My sister gave birth to her little daughter on Tuesday morning and named her Sophia Elizabeth. She is absolutely gorgeous. I know everyone says that about babies in their family, but she really is! She has lots of black hair and a squishy nose and everyone says she looks just like her Auntie Helen. I'm really looking forward to spoiling her once she gets a bit older, but for now all she does is eat or sleep ha! But I've been helping my sister by making meals on wheels and sorting out all of the gifts she has been given. For a little baby she has more clothes than I do!
I feel fully settled in at work now also, as I enter my 4th week. Everyone is so lovely there, but of course working full time has meant that my blogging is rather sporadic now! I have so many exciting things to blog about though, from crochet to whoopie pies to work clothes! I WILL make time for it all, promise!

I always love your shoes! Especially these ones, and the red ones in your previous post :)

ReplyDeleteLooking delightfully stylish as always in today's pics :)
Congratulations, you new auntie, you!
ReplyDeleteUrgh, well this is slightly weird, but I can't for the life of me throw away my first ever pair of skinny jeans. IT SOUNDS SO RIDICULOUS, because I barely ever, ever wear them but every time I try to get rid of them, I don't know, they just remind me of when I started to get to grips with fashion & I feel like those jeans were a turning point for me. It's not as if they're of any value or anything, just some prize Denim Co. from Primark jeans!
I also have a blue jacket - which I've been trying to write a whole post dedicated to - from H&M in 2005, it's like a big shiny bowler jacket & it's so unhip but I love it so much, it's my quintessential piece & I used to wear it so much, that it was MY thing & all my college pals knew me for it. That's slightly less freaky than a pair of jeans, haha.
You look so pretty in blue!!!
ReplyDeleteI gave you an award in my blog!!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being an auntie!!!
Congrats on becoming an Auntie!
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, I can't throw away an old pair of baggy jeans that I got during my 'pop-punk' phase around 1999... apart from the fact that they don't fit, and the bottoms are all scuffed (being so short, jeans always trail!), I'd never dream of wearing them now, but when I think of all the gigs I traipsed to in them, and the exams I sat in them, I just can't let go!
Look forward to hearing about the whoopie pies, they've been on my 'to-do' list for a while :)
Congrats to your sister! Hope you're enjoying your auntie duties so far! I really love your dress, and the shoes are gorgeous!
