If there's one thing I love to do in the autumn, it's apple picking! On Sunday the weather was perfect for it - sunny but cool - so I persuaded Scott to come apple picking with me. We took the dogs with us to Eddisbury Fruit Farm and came back with a huge bag of bramley apples for baking with.
Pepe & Nina thoroughly enjoyed themselves and it now means that summer is officially over and autumn is here. Next on my list of autumnal things to do is go pumpkin picking! I baked some yummy apple crumble bars with some of the freshly picked apples, but I shall share that recipe with you at the weekend. What's your favourite thing to do in the autumn?

Wow, what a lovely way to spend a sunday! I love it when you get really sunny crisp autumnal days, apple picking is definitely a good way to spend them!
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet. :) Autumn is my favourite season - I just love it when it's cold but crisp and the sun is shining!

beautiful photographs, you lead such a lovely life. xx
ReplyDeleteYou're the second person this week who's recommended apple picking - I'm thinking I really need to try and find somewhere I can do it, it seems like such a lovely "Autumnal" kind of thing to do!
ReplyDeleteWell, there are many good things about autumn, so I can't decide. As long as it's not constantly raining, everything is fine!
ReplyDeletecan't wait to see the outcome of those apple bars! looby xx
ReplyDeleteDefinitelly porridge for breakfast, blankets and warm chocolate, tights, hats and scarfs and the colours! :) Apple pies aren't too bad either :)
ReplyDeleteThese photos are too lovely! And you look gorgeous <3
ReplyDeletewhat a great day out, very autumnal!
ReplyDeletefavourite thing would have to be cosying up with hot chocolate :)
ReplyDeleteI just love every last thing about autumn!
ReplyDeleteWhen you're in Edinburgh you should go to The Rose Leaf http://roseleaf.co.uk for cocktails in teapots, their gin and homemade ginger beer is blissful. If you're down that way Sofi's Bar is lovely too. It's a little Scandinavian haven tucked away in Leith. Take the number 22 from Princes Street right to the front door.
As for shopping you will love The Red Door Gallery and Godiva in the Grassmarket.
How long are you here for? Maybe we could have a cup of tea and a slice of cake? I'm desperate for some book recommendations for taking on holiday.

Lovely photos! I went apple picking the other day with my boyfriend, it's so much fun!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like such a nice day out :) Your dogs are adorable too. When Autumn rolls around I enjoy the return of scarves and crunching through leaves, but will have to give apple picking a go now I think! x
