How gorgeous is this Topshop lipstick?! It's called 'All About Me' and it's a lot brighter and pinker than the usual lipsticks I would go for (I tend to be drawn to reds). I originally wanted to buy Brighton Rock, but the Liverpool store was all sold out and I saw All About Me and decided to go for it. It's really moisturising and feels lovely on. It is also a really strong pigment so stays on for ages too. The bit I had tested on my hand did not want to budge AT ALL! I have to say I am quite besotted with it, I think it's a pink that suits my skin really well. I don't like wishywashy pale shades as they just make me look a bit ill. Do you like pinks or prefer bold reds? I think I will be more adventurous now with my lipstick and maybe even try a nice purple!
Oh yeah, here is a cake that I made at the weekend for my work friend! It was carrot cake with a cinnamon-cream cheese frosting. I really need to make some carrot cake to eat myself now, haven't had it in SO long! I had some shop bought carrot cake a few weeks ago and it made me realise how much nicer homemade cakes are - shop bought ones have NO flavour at all! What do you prefer - shop bought or homemade?

I love this lip colour. I usually go for muted colours, but I recently went for a bold red and loved it! Maybe I will have to progress onto pinks. Homemade cakes win hands down!

oh i have only tried to make carrot cake once, and it totally failed, although i still can't figure out hwat i did wrong.
ReplyDeletethat lippy looks fab on you! :)
Hi Helen! Sorry I haven't stopped by here in a while. I absolutely love all the work you've been doing to your house - it looks so wonderful! :)
ReplyDeleteI am definitely a red lipstick girl. It's been my "trademark" beauty signature since I was about 16! :) I like pale pinky lip glosses for days where I wear a small amount of makeup :)
Glad everything is going well for you - hope everything with your mentor is going good too :)
I've always been a red girl but when I was in Brighton and at the Benefit counter she put a pink on me and I loved it so could be time for some experimenting for the spring!
ReplyDeleteLovely! Will have to check this out :)
ReplyDeleteI love reds and reddy pinks. You might like Revlon Cherries in the Snow, its one of my favourites.
Home made cakes are always so much richer and work wonderful with a cup of tea!
ReplyDeleteMy lipstick colour of choice is usually pink based, normally some sort of rose or plum colour. I've never been daring enough to experiment with reds.
ReplyDeleteI love pinks and reds, but I have to stay away from anything too orange or peach colored. I'm very fair skinned, and those colors wash me out and make me look yellow. As for cakes, it really depends. I've had delicious carrot cake from the bakery down the street, and not so good cake made by a coworker (which of course I ate all of with a huge smile even though it wasn't so good because that's just what you do). I think there's a big difference between bakery and store-bought though (grocery store bakeries are really hit or miss I find, but stand alone bakeries are much better). I'm sure yours was absolutely delicious!! :)
ReplyDeletepurple lipsticks would suit you, in my opinion..
ReplyDeleteI love making cakes! :-)
ooh i just bought my first topshop lipstick the other day! love it so much. i now want to get the whole collection - and they're not ridiculously expensive either, unlike the rest of topshop's stock. 'all about me' suits you so well, it's such a nice shade. xx
ReplyDeleteI really want to try a lilac lipstick!
ReplyDeleteBrighton Rock looks more neon-y on than it does in the tube, I was disappointed after lusting after it for ages. I might give this one a go instead it looks pretty on you x
ReplyDeleteLooks a great colour on you.
ReplyDeleteHomemade cakes every time! My recipe book is 'blogland' at the moment. Last week I made Lucy's (Attic 24), Oaty Cookies, Ted & Bunny's Viennese Whirls and Jane Brocket's Flapjacks!!
Z xx
What a great colour on you. I use it as creme blusher.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the pink, girl! I've never really tried bold-coloured lipstick, I have no idea what it'd look like on me! Maybe that's a goal for 2012 :)
ReplyDeleteThat lipstick is gorgeous, it really suits you! I want it but I am on a spending ban, so I guess I will hoak out my brighton rock.
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought this was an about me post, you should totally do one of those! x
Homemade cakes all the way!!
ReplyDeleteLove the lipstick! Bold shades really don't work on my lips - I am still hunting for the perfect red!
ReplyDeleteCarrot cake is my absolute favourite - just wish I could bake haha!

Pink for work, red for sassy date night!
ReplyDeleteI love bright pinks! I wear reds and pinks usually but have a couple of brights stashed away. Though I took a reddish-pink one as an all rounder in HK!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos! Please check my blog - http://istyled.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteI am new :)
That colour looks great on you! Good to know it lasts so well as well, definitely might need to make a purchase from topshop soon!
ReplyDeleteOh no, I never should have seen that cake. Massive sugar craving...
ReplyDeleteLovely lipstick!
I LOVE carrot cake! I like bright lipsticks but I need to wear them more!

I have a great carrot cake recipe but my frosting always comes out runny! Don't suppose you'd share your recipe for that cinnamon frosting? It looks amazing! x
ReplyDeleteOh I love that lipstick on you! I can never find a red lipstick to suit me but pink sort of works... may be checking out that Topshop one. The dress makes me a little sad, though. I had it, and I decided it didn't fit right and I took it back. Now I regret that choice! Also, I second the request for cinnamon frosting. Yuuuummm.
ReplyDeletei have this dress too! love your girly style (i think we dress quite similarly!) glad to have found your lovely blog!
